Getting an annual car air conditioning service will help to avoid costly breakdowns
The refrigerant gas used in an automotive aircon system depletes over time. For example, when the aircon system is not used over the winter the seals can dry out, allowing the gas to leak.
If your system runs low on refrigerant the compressor has to work harder and will therefore wear out quicker. If this continues, eventually the aircon will not function at all.
This can be easily fixed by getting a leak check of the system followed by a re-gas. A regas is a complete evacuation and refill of the refrigerant.
This is why it is a good idea to run your the car AC occasionally over the winter months. An automotive air conditioner not only keeps you cool during summer, but it also removes humidity from the cabin which is handy in the winter to clear a foggy windscreen.
A.S. Motors can inspect your air con system for leaks, deterioration or damage to any hoses, seals or components as well as make sure the operating pressures are as per specification.
Your auto air conditioning system may need attention if:
Your car doesn’t feel cold enough when running the aircon
Bad odours coming from the car air vents
Rattling or other noises coming from the air conditioning system
Excessive moisture inside your car
A.S. MOTORS has Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) Accreditation
A.S. Motors are qualified and ARC accredited refrigerant handlers and can perform air conditioning repairs, services and re-gas on most makes and models.
Refrigerant gas is extremely damaging to the ozone layer and any gas that is irresponsibly released into the atmosphere harms the environment and contributes to global warming.
By law, all refrigerant gas must be recycled, and anyone doing this work must be accredited.
